eMobility sector components are made in strict accordance with the IATF 16949, which is the International Quality Standard for Automotive Quality Management Systems. The IATF is a group of automotive manufacturers and their respective trade associations, formed to provide improved quality products to automotive customers worldwide.
This IATF 16949 certification is a real requirement in the automotive sector and is essential for the aluminium casting business at Alteams. An effective quality system is a prerequisite for ensuring continuous quality.
Alteams Suzhou has conformed to the IATF16949 and has been awarded the IATF16949 Letter of Conformance (LOC).This letter is provided by our external auditor partner DNV GL and it shows that Alteams Suzhou meets the technical requirements of the automotive quality standards. To fully achieve this, it requires 12 months evidence of mass production of automotive components in accordance to this standard. Alteams will be awarded the IATF16949 after this control period.
Ashley Alteams India, as well as Alteams Finland’s unit in Laihia, have already received the IATF16949 certification. Alteams Laihia got the certification in 2004 and Ashley Alteams in 2010. Alteams Poland is well in the process of being awarded this certification also and will begin in December 2019 with an IATF16949 quality management system readiness review carried out by DNV GL. The Letter of Conformance audit will follow on from this early in 2020. Alteams Poland is focused on receiving this certificate during late 2020 or early 2021.
